Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

KamiSnap is built to help people in Japan understand the documents that land in their mailbox — tax notices, immigration letters, bills, school notices, and more. We treat your documents and your privacy with care, and we collect as little data as we possibly can.

2. Information We Process

To produce an explanation of your document, KamiSnap processes a small amount of information:

• Document images and extracted text. When you scan or upload a document, the image and the text extracted from it are sent to trusted AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) for analysis. These providers do not use this content to train their models, and the content is not stored on our servers after processing is complete.
• Subscription data. Subscriptions are managed through Apple and RevenueCat using anonymous identifiers. We do not see your Apple ID, name, billing address, or payment details.
• Anonymous diagnostics. The app collects basic crash logs and performance metrics so we can find and fix bugs. This data is aggregated and does not identify you.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not require an account, name, email, or phone number.
• We do not store the content of your documents on our servers.
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not collect your location.

4. Local Storage on Your Device

Your scan history — past explanations, saved documents, and reminders — is stored locally on your iPhone. It is not synced to our servers. If you delete the app or clear its data, your scan history is removed.

5. Third-Party Services

KamiSnap relies on a small set of trusted providers to operate. You can read their privacy practices at the links below.

• OpenAI — used for document understanding and explanation.
• Anthropic — used for document understanding and explanation.
• RevenueCat — used to manage subscriptions with anonymous identifiers.
• Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases, and crash reporting.

6. Data Retention

Document images and extracted text are discarded immediately after an explanation is generated. We do not maintain copies of the documents you scan.

7. Children's Privacy

KamiSnap is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Your Rights

Because we do not require an account and do not store the content of your documents, there is very little personal data for us to access or delete on your behalf. Subscription and refund questions are handled by Apple. If you have a privacy concern that is not covered here, please reach out and we will do our best to help.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), or Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). These rights may include accessing, correcting, deleting, or restricting the use of your personal data, and objecting to certain processing. 9. Apple App Store and EULA Compliance

KamiSnap is distributed through the Apple App Store and complies with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), the Apple Developer Program License Agreement, and the App Store Review Guidelines, including all privacy-related requirements.

• App Tracking Transparency. KamiSnap does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies and does not use the iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA). We do not display the App Tracking Transparency prompt because we do not engage in tracking as defined by Apple.
• Privacy Nutrition Labels.The data categories described in this policy match the disclosures shown on KamiSnap's App Store privacy label.
• On-device processing.Your scan history and saved documents stay on your iPhone and are protected by iOS's standard app sandbox and encryption.
• Apple is not a data controller for the app.We — not Apple — are responsible for KamiSnap's handling of your personal data. Apple acts as the App Store distributor and payment processor, governed by its own privacy policy.
• Third-party beneficiary. You acknowledge that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the terms relating to your license to use KamiSnap, and have the right to enforce those terms against you.

10. Changes and Contact
